See thru the glare.
Polarized sunglasses offer the best overall glare protection. Microscopically thin lines of filliment are strung through the lens in a uniforn horizontal pattern. These filliments are too small to be seen with the naked eye. Portions of the viewing field are actually blocked out in each eye individually. Any obstruction is generally made up for in the coresponding eye. The result is a huge reduction in glare without having to prohibitively darken the lenses. The greatest visual benefits are intense sunlight glare conditions such as: waves while boating, rainy streets while driving and snowy conditions in wintertime. Downside: Polarized lenses can inhibit ones ability to view a computer or smartphone screen.
